Local Link bus to Carrick-on-Shannon station
In recent weeks a Local Link bus service linking Ballinamore and Mohill (and smaller locations along the route) to Carrick-on-Shannon railway station has been introduced:
10.30 ex Ballinamore arriving Carrick station 11.43. Bus operates Mon, Wed, Fri & Sat 11.00 ex Mohill arriving Carrick station 11.43. Bus operates Tue & Thu (both above connect into 11.48 train to Longford/Dublin) 14.20 ex Mohill arriving Carrick station 14.53. Bus operates Mon-Sat inclusive (connects into 15.13 train to Sligo & 15.46 to Longford/Dublin) 17.00 ex Ballinamore arriving Carrick station 17.58. Bus operates Mon-Sat inclusive (connects into 18.13 train to Sligo & 18.46 to Longford/Dublin) Full timetable PDF is available by typing 564 (route number) in the find a timetable section of the National Intermodal Journey Planner (NIJP). Additional Local Link routes
Two further Local Link routes that have Carrick on Shannon rail station as their terminus have been launched in recent weeks.
A daily (Mon-Sat) route from Arigna via Drumshanbo and Leitrim village. 12.50 & 16.40 ex Arigna arriving at Carrick station at 13.35 and 17.10 (13.46 train ex Carrick to Longford/Mullingar/Dublin) Ex Carrick station at 13.40 and 17.15. The 13.40 extends to Arigna Mining Experience. (13.13 & 17.12 train arrivals from Dublin) A Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays-only route to Manorhamilton via Leitrim village, Drumshanbo, Drumkeen and Dromahair. Departs Carrick station at 13.15hrs (13.13 train ex Dublin) The inbound journey arrives at the station at 11.00.
