Default Doors released at Fairview

Northbound DART 1108 ex Pearse on Friday 2 Feb 2007.

Passenger doors were released by driver at Fairview depot just after s/he stopped to change with other driver. Hopefully, there was no blind person waiting to get off at Clontarf Road and ended up face down on the tracks.

I take it you got the full electronic door chimes?

Or someone opened a door?

Its fairly impossible for a driver to make the mistake, you have to push two buttons together

The beeping and the green lights. No-one attempted to get off in the carriage I was in.

Remember the highway code of look left and right before crossing? The irish rail version is look down...

Right, black box has caught this one

The driver who took over is also in the loop since (s)he would have to lock the doors again

Train was 10:30 Bray Howth, (E921 is the train id use only if IE say they can't find it)

Give them a call in the DART office in Pearse 703 3592 and see what happens. You have to put this in writing to the RSC if IE don't listen and quickly

Don't some of the darts have no driver door?

When I posted about the unconscious guy in Malahide that dart didn't have a separate driver door.

It would seem the poor dart drivers are gonna be forced to walk the whole way to Clontarf road to change if this stuff happens. unbelievable.

All have a cab door, on the drivers side, its only if a driver has to board on the off side, eg P2 Bray/Howth they use the interior door, staff platforms in Fairview are on the right side

You have to push both door left release buttons together which make an accidental push unlikely
