Default Fare Calculator

We have been working on this for some time and its now ready for the real world

Quote:
The initial release of the Rail Users Ireland fares calculator covers the Dublin Sligo, Dublin Dundalk and Dublin Rosslare Europort routes, the three routes missing off the Irish Rail reservation system. We will extend this in time to cover all journeys within the Republic of Ireland and hopefully will be able to quote fares for journeys to stations within Northern Ireland.
The fares calculator can be found here http://www.railusers.ie/passenger_info/fare_calc.php

Few upgrades now supports Faircard and Weekender fares as well

Should be able to quote fares for all journeys Kerry/Cork/Limerick to Heuston but no further as well as Sligo/Rosslare/Dundalk

Still a few bugs I'm afraid but then again its a whole lot better than the nothing Irish Rail provide

We have the fares for Cork but we don't know which ones apply for station combinations, its not a distance system like intercity

If anyone out there could tell us the fare between any Cobh line stations we could reconstruct it very quickly

Ticket Type A B C D
Adult Single €1.25 €1.80 €2.45 €3.75
Adult Return €2.30 €3.00 €4.00 €5.50

Its 5.50 Cork Cobh return we know that much

Last time I got a Cork-Little Island 5 day return it was €2.45. Must have gone up a bit.

I'll check the Cork-X fares on the TVMs next time I'm down. Obviously won't be able to check Little Island-Rushbrooke or anything like that.

Note that there is also a destination called "Cobh Jct" that can show up on tickets issued from the portable machines. I don't know where that is.

2009 fares now loaded for Dublin Cork/Limerick/Tralee/Dundalk

Fares for Dublin Sligo and Rosslare will be loaded shortly.

The weekly/monthly fares are still at 2008 prices, Irish Rail of course have failed to update the spreadsheet leaving everyone in the dark
