A short film produced by my small outfit in prep for the bigger project.

I'd just ignore the begrudgers. We've our own lives to live. I enjoyed that clip.

It jammed at the 7th minute, but then it worked just fine, probably a fault with my browser or connection

Now.... as I type this i havent gone back into the IRN thread. But, am I right in saying that Mr 100 percent thinks that those prints by Derek Wheeler are by our Derek Wheeler?

I liked the way that the sets impressively give the impression of a lonely man numbed to death in a bland, identikit house in some soul destroying sink estate in the middle of nowhere. The attention to detail is marvelous, including the tacky PVC front door, a symbol of the artificiality of Barry's life.

The ending is as dramatic as it is pathetic for poor Barry. Crushed by the awfulness of his decor he chooses the only option open to him.

The actors are excellent. The choice of a Jack L impersonator is truly inspired but the Solicitor character is a let down, portrayed as he is by some ex-bouncer with obvious anger management problems I fear for this character as well, as his living room (perhaps his office - even worse) indicates to me that he may well be going down the road of Barry.

This man need Ty Pennington, and fast.

Move that bus!

Very Stephen King ish.....

I know there were a fair few of my customers in the same predicament when Man Utd lost. Or the ultimate win for the bookie......Greece beating Portugal in the Euro 2004 final (1/3 to 4/9). St Louis winning the Superbowl in 2000 (-7.5 points on the Handicap or 1/3 on the match bet). Istabraq loosing against Pridwell at Aintree in 1999 (4/9 Fav beaten), and many more besides on the gambling front. We'd lose, the boss would moan, but it was always a case of the house always wins long term. The whole principle being......."Never kill, just milk, and keep milking".

Once we knew the reason for the losses, we'd do reports that would make Kenny from Southpark (ahem, who killed Kenny) look honest on the spin machine. Life went on.

I should be sympathetic, but to be honest, I was too busy bouncing round the office with a ciggie, a bottle of Chateau Vino Collapso, singing Freddie Mercury off key. I know what its like to be Barry, but I lived vegetarian and roll my owns to get out of that. Bills first, fun second. But not anyone can do that.

And as for Barry, pray for him.

As for Barry, learn from him.

Don't be paying bookies clerks their annual bonuses.

I still do. Its a pathetic attempt to convince people that I actually do have a life, and I'm not an anorak.

I havent had any good tips recently to help people get into debt, although I feel the temptation to head up to the casino and racetrack next weekend.

I wouldnt like my children seeing that sort on the screen if I left the pc on

Hardly ground breaking John, but I take your point. That particular post was directed at a viewer who misrepresented the thread on another message board.

Thats mild language compared to the stuff kids use these days. It might have been regarded as obscene 20 or 30 years ago, but they've only become mild terms of abuse ever since the advent of comedies such as "Only Fools and Horses".

That bunch of posts on IRN will go down in their history as their greatest own goal.
