![]() To-day the Green line seems to be out all day, due to an unspecified technical problem. I think there was a partial outage yesterday also. Any information on the cause?

In fairness to Dublin Chamber they have a firm record of putting themselves first in objecting to the plaza at College Green. This is an initiative to put Dublin and its public first but no the cash till by the business interests will decide otherwise. An open space free of traffick would be a huge improvement wilt Luas nearby instead we get gridlock and diesel spewing buses. |

![]() The DCC proposals for College Green were drawn up after the LUAS route was finalised. Any radical traffic changes should have been considered in conjunction with detailed LUAS route planning in The College Green area. Responsibility for rail and road layout (i.e. bus and luas) seems to be divided between DCC and NTA, with predictable results.
Dublin Bus will always be the dominant public transport mode, because Dublin is basically a low-density city. Removing buses from College Green-Dame Street means that public transport between the North and South sides of Dublin will be hopelessly messed up. Alternative routes are already congested and heaven knows how bad things will get if DCC gets its way. I get the impression that planners do their work entirely at their desks and seldom wander out to the real world to assess the impact of their decisions. It just the same with many cycle lanes: clearly designed and built by people who have never sat on a bike since childhood. |
