Default [3/10/2009] Services to/from Heuston station after 18:30

Revised Arrangements at Heuston Station

As part of our ongoing investment in the railway infrastructure, essential signalling and trackwork will take place between Heuston and Newbridge and Limerick Junction and Charleville this Saturday 3rd October.

Services from Heuston Affected:

20.00hrs Heuston to Cork service will operate to Limerick Junction only. Cork and Mallow passengers will be transferred by road from Thurles.

21.00 Heuston to Cork service will operate to Thurles only. Cork, Mallow, Limerick Junction and Limerick passengers will be transferred by road from Thurles.

Services to Heuston Affected:

18.05hrs Galway to Heuston service will operate to Newbridge only. Bus transfers will operate from Newbridge to Heuston.

18.05hrs Westport to Heuston service will operate to Newbridge only. Bus transfers will operate from Newbridge to Heuston.

18.25hrs Waterford to Heuston service will operate to Kildare only. Bus transfers will operate from Kildare and Heuston.

18.30hrs and 19.30hrs Cork to Heuston services will operate to Newbridge only. Bus transfers will operate from Newbridge to Heuston.

20.30hrs Cork to Heuston service will operate to Portlaoise only. Bus transfers will operate from Portlaoise to Heuston.

Kildare Commuter Services

On Saturday 3rd October the following Commuter Services to and from Dublin and Kildare will be cancelled.

Heuston to Kildare

20.35, 21.45, 23.00

Kildare to Heuston

21.54, 22.50

The following services are also cancelled:

18.35 Heuston to Thurles

21.00 Thurles to Heuston

22.00 Limerick to Limerick Junction

22.45 Limerick Junction to Limerick

Advice to Passengers with Special Needs
Any mobility impaired passengers requiring to travel during the period of curtailed services should contact our special needs helpline at (01) 7033299 between 09.00hrs and 17.30hrs Monday to Friday.

Please check your journey times here.

We would like to apologise to our customers for any inconvenience this essential work may cause.

It was on the journey planner a while ago. I was going to post this but it slipped my mind.

Still not good enough though.

Several trains between Heuston and Cork have been running late. The 1130 Cork-Heuston didn't get in until 1445. The 1730 Cork-Heuston still isn't in. This will cause a knock-on effect to the 2100 Heuston-Thurles.

The train ran a few minutes late as a 2×3 22000. The connection from Thurles to Cork didn't get in until 0040; it seems IÉ got caught on the hop with numbers, as there were a sizeable number of rather depressed Munster supporters. Most of the buses therefore had to go to Limerick, and there was only one left for Mallow and Cork.

Reservations aside, surely when people got on at Heuston, they had 60-90 minutes to arrange buses?
