Alcohol on the train
From http://www.overheardindublin.com/:

I'm on the nightrain - Bottoms Up
The Sunday Waterford to Dublin rail service had recently banned alcohol on the service prohibiting all alcohol on board in addition to roving security patrols up and down the train. The reason for the Elliot Ness style clamp down was gregarious hoardes of Dubs clambering aboard after a heavy weekend in Kilkenny, still pissed, smoking pot, drinking their voddy and fouling the air with their nasal tones and mangled grammar not to mention their booze infused flatus. To copperfasten Irish Rails no nonsense intent the announcer on the PA announced the following one evening. "This is the 5 o'clock service from Plunkett Station Waterford to Heuston Station Dublin. THERE IS NO ALCOHOL PERMITTED ANYWHERE ON THIS TRAIN, there is no baggage permitted on seats, there is no smoking permitted anywhere on this service including toilets. Anybody found contravening this will be removed from the train by the Gardai at the next station. There was a pause and then the mike was keyed again "Just stay quiet and you'll get there"
