Iarnród Éireann have arranged for additional train services to cater for the expected demand from Cork GAA fans travelling to Dublin for the All Ireland Football Finals. The heavily anticipated matches; Cork V Down in the senior and Cork V Tyrone in the minor, will take place in Croke Park, Sunday the 19th Spetember.

Four trains have been scheduled to depart Kent station, Cork, with a fifth train to depart Tralee for Dublin. Seats are still available to purchase on the following trains departing Cork, 07.30hrs, 07.50hrs, 09.00hrs and 10.30hrs which all serve Mallow and Charleville. The fifth train will depart Tralee at 07.15hrs serving Killarney, Rathmore, Millstreet, Banteer, Mallow, Charleville, Limerick Junction and arriving in Dublin Heuston at 11.05hrs.

For Down supporters travelling from Dundalk, an extra train service has been arranged, departing Dundalk for Dublin Connolly at 11.05 and later returning Dublin Connolly to Dundalk, departing at 18.40.

Iarnrod Eireann is advising all intending customers to purchase their rail tickets in advance, either on-line www.irishrail.ie or through Iarnród Éireann’s Telesales number which is (021) 455-7185 or 1850 366 222.

You'd think they could have arranged the Down train ex Newry? Maybe no NIR or NIRed IE sets spare?

NIR have 3 extra trains from Belfast to Dublin, plus 2 more from Newry
