Default 2009 Timetable

Seen several rumours on the forum about when the new timetable will come into existence. Has anyone got any confirmed dates?

Nope. Looks like it could be August but then again IE have a habit lately of procrastinating and delaying things further. It wouldn't surprise me.

is the construction of the Clongriffin Station holding up the timetable?

I've heard rumours that alongwith 22ks fully in place on the Rosslare line we are also looking at full clockface timetables for the Dublin commuter/DART belt in the new timetables!

Time will tell! [fingers crossed]

No, they would merely need to allow 30-60 seconds for it, so it doesn't really change the timetable.

Default New Dublin-Carlow-Waterford Timetable

Folks, if you go onto the IE website and check train times on Dec 1st you can see the new times. Some services have changed up to 10 minutes etc. Very disappointing that there are no new services, or that the times were not changed more dramatically. Extremely poor that the 18.25 out of Heuston has now been delayed to 18.35 considering this is the primary service out of the city for commuters. It should have been moved back rather than forward.

If you finish work at 6pm the later departure you would be very happy

There are very little people running for the 18.25 so that comment does not hold up. Normal office hours close at 5.30, so I hardly think IE are trying to be nice to the minority that work to 6.

There are consistent requests for later departures, several complaints from Killkenny. For example Westport is moved to 18:30 from 17:45

The Waterford train may leave 10 minutes later, but it arrives Waterford same time as current, thanks to the speed up from the new trains mainly at Killkenny, Athy is reached in 5 minutes less than current

I agree with Kilkea - I've never seen anyone running for the 18:25 train. Most regular commuters are waiting around for 10/15 minutes beforehand. The last few evenings of late departures (with no announcements as usual - surprise surprise) and now changing the departure time of the 18:25 just takes the biscuit...I'll be joining the others from Carlow/Athy who gave up on the train a while ago and started driving after the car parking charges were introduced.
