Inbound Heuston delays by Corporate Communications

There are significant delays to inbound services at Heuston Station due to an engine fault on the 1305 Galway to Heuston service. This train is delayed by over 120 minutes.

Services also affected are 13.30hrs Cork-Heuston, 14.10hrs Limerick-Heuston and 13.05hrs Westport-Heuston.

Iarnród Éireann apologises for the inconvenience caused to customers.
And yes you are entitled to a refund in this case http://www.platform11.org/passenger_info/refunds.php

Some outbound trains will be delayed in due course

The 17:55 Galway train left at 19:20 ( a couple of minutes before the 18:35 Thurles service). At that stage the arrow that was meant to go from Platform 1 (and which one passenger had been told would be going out within minutes of arriving in) had been sitting at the platform for at least 25 minutes.

As usual, there was next to no information available. The fact that there was meant to be a 19:00 service to Cork wasn't even shown on the noticeboards (as they hadn't found a platform for it) and so passengers unaccustomed to the customer service on offer would think that service was cancelled.
