Default [25-2-2008] 06:18 Longford Dublin

Signaling system is reporting this train as arriving Dublin 9:06, thats jargon for it was cancelled, the 7am train has a 9:04 arrival

Anyone know anything?

Seemed to be a lot of delays this morning, got down to Broombridge for 8:15, a large crowd waiting there, someone said that no trains had passed though but on came on time (8:20) and was jam packed. I missed this and another train before getting a Docklands train before being delayed for a few minutes at Glasnevin Junction.

Bit crazy and all

Everytime the Longford train gets cancelled things go bellyup for the whole morning!

The thing is if you look at the timetable you can see why the whole line goes pearshaped for the morning!

07:30 Maynooth Pearse [is the 06:18 Longford Pearse] from what I heard it didn't show up. That train is always packed to the rafters

07:46 Maynooth Connolly is always packed aswell and is only a 4 coach train. Was that the case this morning?

07:58 Maynooth Bray is always packed to the rafters.

Then comes the non-stop Sligo early bird and the 08:17 Maynooth Pearse (8 coach thank god)

I have been getting trains on mornings that the 06:18 ex Longford fails to show up and Iarnrod Eireanns management skills on this morning takes alot to be desired!

Is there any chance that this may have been cancelled due to the knock-ons from the weekend Longford cancellations? I dread to think that this will be a daily thing!

Probably to do with the lack of drivers issue, there may in fact have been a driver but no train to drive

Mark,

The train ran alright and was on time to Enfield but sat in Enfield station for an hour. The driver blamed a "signalling problem" but couldn't tell us at any stage how long we were going to be waiting.

The later train would have been stuck behind us for a good 15-20 mins. The whole delay even held up the 1st Dub-Sligo train as it was also left sitting in Enfield for a good few minutes.

John.

Talking to a colleague, it was announced that "this train is not running today" at approx 7:34.

Everyone got on the 4-car 7:48 service to Connolly which was standing room leaving Maynooth.

I can only imagine the conditions when it got to D15.
