Annual Ticket Validity
Hi!
Sorry if this has been covered previously. I have a "Point to Point" ticket from Sallins to Lansdowne Road. Seeing as this is past the "Short Hop" zone, would my ticket cover me for travel from Maynooth to Lansdowne? Also, does anyone know if there will ever be a proper "Medium Hop" ticket that will cover outer commuter routes + all Dublin Bus / Luas? The point to point style ticket really limits me. I use Dublin Bus in the morning and the DART in the evening. I have to pay daily for the bus. Do I have any alternative? Thanks, Brian. |

There is a medium hop ticket, valid rail, DB and Bus Eireann it does exist, well we know it certainly did
Point to point are valid only point to point and stations between those points So Newbridge Bray is fine for Sallins Blackrock |

What is the range of the Medium hop? Do you have any information on pricing?
Personally, I can't see why we can't get a ticket that covers short hop+one long distance destination. It would be extremely useful to be able to travel into the city and then travel on to other destinations within the short hop zone. |

Hi,
The "medium hop", costs a bit over €2K which is a bit over the €1338 that I paid for Sallins to Lansdowne. So 1.40 extra per day to use DB in the morning is still better value, even if it isn't tax free... Brian |

You can also get medium (and long, and giant hops) for 7-day periods if it is your wont, although you've got to have a photo ID. The Dublin Bus website has details of how far the zones extend.
Don't forget that €2920 buys an all-stations-in-the-ROI ticket for one year, which can be as little as €1547.60 if you use the taxsaver option and are a top-rate taxpayer. |
