Default [22-0507] 0700 Maynooth Pearse

This train was only a 4 car set instead of 8.
Standing room only leaving Maynooth.

Hundreds of customers in Coolmine were left behind and no one obviously could board the train in Castleknock, Ashtown, Broombrigde or Drumcondra.

If I had my cynical hat on, i'd say a 4 car set will make an appearance in Athrenry or Ennis today

It wasn't a good morning at all and was getting a bit tense with passengers trying to shove on. The train that follows 20 minutes later is a four car train as well and leave passengers behind quite often

Expect alot more of that every rail commuter rail service in the country is and will be affected by it. Last Friday evening the Rosslare train was 4 car 29000 and when it passed me by at Blackrock, I haven't seen a Rosslare train as overcrowded as I saw it last Friday, not in a long time.

The thing is I don't think IE know where the cutbacks should be made they seem to be taking them randomly off every line. It's not too long ago a 2-car train did a morning Drogheda-pearse service on a weekday morning (about ten-ish)

Hi,

I was on the 16.42 from Connolly last night, crazy, it was almost full when it hit connolly and by the time it left it was sardine time! A 4 car 29000 doing the work of a 8 car. When it Drumcondra, it was even worse, peolpe were sceaming at the door asking people to mover further inside, which they could not. This an accident waiting to happen, do not talk to me about crush loads etc, it dangerous full stop.

Sean

That is one of if not the worst service on the Maynooth line. It can barely cope as an eight car service. What bright spark in ie decided to run that as a four car service.

If I know I am getting that service I usually get on at Blackrock, that train is full by Lansdowne Rd.

It was nice to see things return to normal this evening even on the Rosslare line. Still would like to know what caused the chaos yesterday.

Then it is a resource management problem.
