Default [5-1-2006] Disruption - Killester

There was a train failure in the evening rush hour today at Killester which caused some serious hassle and many delays

I heard the announcement myself in Pearse at 6pm but couldn't make any sense of it at all, I don't speak the english dialect known as 'train'

So usual questions
A) What happened
B) How good or bad did IE handle it ?

Default Same story...different day

I was on the 17.50 Pearse to Dundalk, which came to a halt on the Loop line.
At the same time, someone texted into Newstalk, and asked George Hook could he find out what was happening, as they had been stuck for 20 mins, with no information from their driver. Another texter also requested information, but the AA Roadwatch update @ 6pm made no mention of it. Shortly afterwards our driver advised there was a defective door on a northbound DART at Killester, and all services were delayed. That was the one and only announcement on that service, or while waiting at any platforms. Total delay 15-20 mins to my service.

I think it was a Soundbound DART in Killester. The 18:20 (Clontarf - I think) was cancelled, which let to huge delays as it was the last DART before the Enterprise... 40min delays on all Southbound services.

NO DART FOR 40MINS AT RUSH HOUR BECAUSE OF A SINGLE BROKEN DOOR... TYPICAL.

Default Southbound v's Northbound

If it was a soutbound service that failed, why were the Northbound trains delayed? that normally only occurs when they decide to 'loop' around the broken down service. Did this happen here? Just curious
To be fair, the driver might have said DART failure at Killester, not indicating which direction....
