Extra Train from Cork to Dublin for Cork v. Tyrone All-Ireland Football Championship Semi-Final in Croke Park, Dublin - Sunday 23rd August 2009. Iarnród Éireann is delighted to announce that train arrangements have been confirmed to cater for Cork GAA fans and all intending passengers wishing to travel from Cork, Mallow or Charleville to Dublin this Sunday, 23rd August 2009.

The regular 08.30hrs train and an extra train at 08.15hrs from Cork to Dublin is already sold out and intending passengers can now purchase rail tickets for an additional train which operates as follows:

Outward Journey – Sunday, 23rd August 2009:

07.45hrs Depart Kent Station, Cork.

08.05hrs Depart Mallow Station

08.20hrs Depart Charleville Station.

10.30hrs Arrive Dublin Heuston Station.



Return Journey – Sunday, 23rd August 2009:

19.50hrs Depart Dublin Heuston Station.

21.50hrs Arrive Charleville Station

22.05hrs Arrive Mallow Station

22.35hrs Arrive Kent Station, Cork.

Reservations are essential on all Cork-Dublin and return trains this weekend (especially Sunday) and priority will be give to passengers who have booked on-line. All intending passengers, including Cork GAA fans are therefore being asked to purchase their rail tickets in advance or reserve their seats on-line by clicking here or phoning Telesales on 1850-366222.
Surprisingly decent notice from Irish Rail, of course no one mentioned anything about a 8:15 train up until now

Finally the secret Maynooth line trains are exposed!

If you're travelling to the All-Ireland Football Semi-Final in Croke Park this Sunday, don't forget there's extra trains running on the Maynooth line (serving Drumcondra Station, less than 5 minutes walk from Croke Park).

Full schedule from Maynooth to Drumcondra and Dublin Connolly this Sunday 23rd August before the matches is (extra trains marked with *):

10.30, 11.00*, 11.36, 12.00*, 12.30, 13.00*, 13.35, 14.35


After the match, departure times from Drumcondra to Maynooth are:

17.15*, 17.25*, 17.41, and continuing with scheduled services.

Trains listed above serve all stations between Maynooth and Drumcondra.

Customers using car parks at stations at Maynooth, Leixlip Louisa Bridge, Leixlip Confey and Coolmine are reminded that all Iarnród Éireann car parks are pay and display 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, priced €2 per day. The car park at Phoenix Park Station is privately owned and operated.

Finally common sense prevails!

If ever ie had a chance to advertise this station this is it, you couldnt really get any nearer, coincidentally the nearest busstop for peopoe heading to croke park is outside drumcondra station!

Its a pity though they dont advertise for trains heading the other way, people would board them at pearse and connolly if they knew!
