Default Canalside trees

Many of the trees alongside the royal canal and Maynooth commuter line between Clonsilla and Leixlip have been cut down. Is IR responsible for this or Waterways Ireland?

Thats Irish Rail they has been some ongoing problems with cutting trees down local authority etc getting in the way
