Default [19-03-2008] 2005 Heuston - Carlow

Original train made it as far as Cherry Orchard before it was forced to turn back due to engine issues. Passengers accomodated on 2100 Heuston - Cork train with taxis for Carlow-bound passengers.

The 2005 to Carlow left around ten minutes late tonight and limped to Inchicore, where it stopped for half an hour. Finally, at 2050, we were advised by the driver that there had been an engine failure, the train was cancelled and that we would be reversing back to Heuston where passengers for Hazelhatch to Kildare could board the 2100 to Cork. No arrangements were made for Cherry Orchard, Clondalkin or Adamstown passengers and it was unclear if Athy or Carlow passengers were to get a bus or a taxi from Kildare.

The Cork train got to the Hatch at 2116.
