I understood there was to be a shuttle coach from Sixmilebridge to Shannon Airport but this plan must have been shelved or dropped altogether. Even with the marked drop in air traffic at the airport there must be scope for a shuttle.

The Ticket machine in Sixmilebridge was not working this evening (Sunday November the 28th) at the station. The screen on the ticket machine was totally dead. I didn't notice if it was working or not yesterday morning when I got off the train there... About a month ago I noticed the machine was not working either but at least there was a notice on the screen saying temporarily out of service or something like that. Has there been problems with the machine recently?

I normally use the station at off-peak times and the most I have seen getting on or off is 10 people. I don't know if many use the morning services or in the evening. Anybody who parks the car there at the weekend seems to be going to Galway for the day it seems btw

Machine has been giving some trouble but hard to recreate, that said CCTV is great to watch back appears it validated passenger complaints

If the machine fails it is instantly flagged and an engineer is sent out

Sixmilebridge suffers as the machine is very exposed to the elements, if the touch screen gives trouble a wipe to remove water from it might help matters

Just wondering, do the RPA/Veolia have similar problems with their Luas ticket machines?

I understand Sixmilebridge is the most exposed TVM and faces into driving rain on a routine basis

The machine itself is fine, its the wet touchscreen which causes a problem

Yeah, I was talking to one of the installers on Luas B1 and any distortion on the screen (mostly water, but also dirt, graffiti, etc.) can cause problems.
