Default social justice - Platforms to fit trains

Went to Westport yesterday.
All the statons have short platforms. even Westport which is a terminus
there was only one door in std class that reached the platform, first plus and dining and guards took the rest.

Even Claremorris, the centre of the known railway universe didn't have a platfrom long enough.

Claremorris isn't too bad. Since Manulla was redone it now fits a full length train to/from Westport. They did a job on Castlerea but still not long enough.

I think Roscommon and Manulla are the only 2 stations that can fit a full train at this stage.

and manulla's not a station.

It's far more sheltered than I imagined though. here's trees ans stuff around it like. I was expecting something like RnaG in Conamara tbh.

Tullamore's not too short. They only say it is because they are announcing it at all the other stops.

Sorry, I meant in the west.

Another thing is the train door. the lintel was about eyebrow height.
It's not like these trains were built back in the economic war when we were all malnourished and short...

On the plus side 30EUR to Westport and back compares favorably with 24EUR to Murrisk and back.

doubt you could manage that in fuel cost alone

was the train locohauled? Presumably the 22000s being shorter with no loco/van will have an easier go of it?
