Default Bus 'connection' to West Cork from Kent Station

Today, 27th June, Bus Éireann have amended their 1945 hrs. Route 237 stage carriage service from Cork to Skibbereen to commence at Kent Station at 1940 hours Mondays to Fridays inclusive.

Key locations served are Bandon and Clonakilty.

One assumes:
a) the principal purpose is to offer passengers arriving on the 1700 train from Dublin (and other stations served by same train) the convenience of a through onward connection. (train arrives 1930).

b) that the coach will commence from the stop within Kent Station grounds - just across from the main entrance (as used by Cork City route 5).

c) that the coach may well wait a few minutes if the train is late. Bus timetables often have some slack in them and besides the service terminates at Skib and is not under pressure to commence another run.

The 237 timetable may be viewed here:http://www.buseireann.ie/pdf/1308580334-237.pdf

Well, it's progress of sorts, but they might consider providing a service in the other direction too!

Seeing that they have to get the bus to Kent Station to operate the service, perhaps extending the 16:15 from Goleen to provide a connection to the 19:30 might be an option.

Funny how West Cork has a connection to the train but the "replacement" service in Waterford runs to the bus terminus, not the train station.

The 1930 got nixed a year or two ago (except Sundays)!
