Default DART is 30 years old 23 July

Doesn't exactly seem like yesterday but on July 23rd the very first revenue earning DART service rolled out.

It was Pearse Howth

Still waiting for phases 2 and 3 to even start...

Crazy trivia

Phase 2 and 3 required a massive underground station behind the Central Bank, CIE bought up a large amount of property in the area to facilitate this and let it out on short term leases while the government continued to ponder the plans.

The project was shafted by various political parties. The presence of short term, low cost leases in the area is what kicked off Temple Bar as we know it today
