![]() I'll be running the Dublin City Marathon on Oct 31st and am thinking of getting the train up that morning to save my wife coming up that early.
Its a bank holiday Monday so i am wondering what trains will be running. I will be going from Portarlington to Heuston. I put the date into the Irish Rail website and it came back with the normal Monday service but i am wondering is it just seeing it as a Monday or are those trains actually running ![]() |

![]() Generally all long distance services run on weekday timetable into Heuston on Bank Holidays
Services from Portloaise/Athlone/Kildare run a revised Sunday service

![]() You'd think if Galway could justify an 0805 on Sunday Cork could justify an 0730 with a 22K set and an arrival just after 10. Would earlier services cause work zone issues or is it just lack of ambition?
