But the DD sets are actually cleared as far as Limerick Junction. They were tested on the Cork line when delivered first. Thats clearance has expired but under the revised rules, its now a desk process to check if a train fits or not

The reality is there are barely enough DD sets to cover Dublin Belfast, no chance of stealing one for a weekend.

The more practical point is the fare would be over 80 euro return
