I too had it up to here last night; was on the 5.30pm from Cork to Heuston which didn't arrive until nearly 10. It stopped three times at unscheduled stops such as Charleville, Ballybrophy and even Adamstown for periods between 5 minutes and half an hour, and thanks to this I was late for an appearance on stage at one of Dublin's best nightspots

There were no announcements on board at all while we were stopped practically in the middle of nowhere, although on final approach to Heuston, I managed to ask a member of staff who mentioned something about a 'fatality' holding trains up. The late inbound trains meant that outgoing trains from Heuston were even more delayed in turn.
I think it is time to take a brave step, and to start planning that much wished-for High-Speed Belfast-Dublin-Cork Route that we all want lol. Maybe if the economy sorts itself out, we'll be looking at one by 2030!
