I doubt anyone knows for sure (except the people who put it there), but I'd guess it can't be more than a couple of weeks. I don;t think it could have been there for long without someone noticing, and word spreads fast in this town.
Apparently it was reported on by a Sunday newspaper, though I've no idea which one.
