A sad truth is that our city is quite dependant on buses and more are definitely needed. The 8 should be cancelled again, the 7/45 should be reduced in frequency. That would inconvinience me but the DART is there too and I would learn to live with it. There are busier places in Dublin (like Clondalkin) that need extra buses and buses duplicating the DART / Luas is the place to get them from in the short term.
