The issue at hand here is working days off, where choice always applies

The roster is 5 days out of 7 days, drivers have no choice which days they work or what days off they get, but have 100% choice in what days off they choose to work if requested to do so. One of the days off is meant to be a weekend day. Bear in mind the working time act comes in as well as does the 48 hour per week limit

So if they are asked to work a day off on a Sat or Sun its highly unlikely they will come in, more so since there is a semi formal ban in place on working any rest days until Phil Flynn finally tables a solution.

Unlike the UK all days are considered equal and the rate of pay is fixed it doesn't mater what time of day or day of the week
