Reports have reached us from some very concerned people in Westmeath that Irish Rail will be reducing the number of peak hour services to/from Longford

The IE official in charge of the timetabling on the line is well known to us and has failed to make any effort to provide a modern frequent service on all routes

It doesn't make much sense really but it doesn't look positive in terms of extra trains

Point to note 'Early Bird' was the term given to a train which ran Mondays only to Dublin early morning. None exist anymore
