An automated announcement

I heard this one on Sunday at Pearse: "We're sorry to announce that the 17:12 service to Bray is delayed by approximately 6 minutes due to suspected damage to a railway bridge at Killester." I don't seem to remember a hittable bridge at Killester.

Neither can I, I got the bus instead

The only bridge in Killester it can be is the one on the Howth Road near Harry Byrne's Pub

It way have been a vehicle hitting the parapet of an overbridge as opposed to the usual high vehicle hitting a low bridge.

The risk is that material has landed on the tracks or will land on a train.

In the Dunboyne line documentation they are rebuilding some of the traditional overbridges so you still see the stonework from the road, but the train driver will just see a monolithic concrete face.
