Would be a great way to record the number of times IE displays accurate information and friendly customer service (would be a very short film shoot!)

How does Itube work, are you meant to have the agreement of parties in the footage to publish it?

I recognise some of those trees and bushes. They are between Portarlington and Tullamore!

Why is there no "flag as sh**e" option on U-Tube. There are a few things that could be so flagged.

The last one has only one redeeming feature - it is mercifully short!

careful now - filming or taking photos breaks irish rail bye-laws. I know, I've had the station manager, a ticket inspector and a security guard all gang up and demand photos be erased! (It's at the back of the printed timetable 2007)

The bye laws don't cover that, what does is that its private property.

beg to differ - check the back section of the 2007 timetable book (the one that costs 2 euros). Can't find the reference online, but it's definitely there.

IE make it up as they go along, they aint in SI 109 1984 they have no standing

Well judging by the amount of stuff out there, it hasn't worked.:D

Having worked in the Video Production biz for many years, I can say the following. Mark is quite right about the bye laws. A domestic camera (video or still) does not come under their insurance clause either. To film on IE property, you need Public Liability cover of up to €5million. Photo shoots are similar. In essence its a case of any "shoot" that involves risk to the public through equipment, cabling etc.

Taking a photograph/video from a hand held camera is only covered by the "private property" tag, which the bye-laws do not delineate between. I would suggest that IEs timetable warning in relation to photography is based on the success of the internet. They are afraid that someone will snap or record something that makes them look bad. Its not enforceable against domestic devices.

Obviously a member of the IRN brigade, fresh off the ferry from Fishguard for the weekend, looking to chase some old locomotives around with that camera of his.

Still, one thing I did agree with .... "Commeutah ..." :D

Got to ask what you were photographing that they were so concerned about. I've often snapped away and never been challenged (yet).

I quite like the comment.....it was bought second hand and bought from wales and has an engineer on board......

They would pick a Cork-Dublin train with a big ugly enterprise loco whacked on the back :) They're actually not getting the mixing up the brands THAT badly wrong on most of them.

I'm not going to go into the whole scenario, but a member of staff was in the shot and saw it being taken. And it was one of those shots that would make IE look bad.
