What exactly does "No Current Travel Alerts" on the Irish Rail website mean?

My partner usually takes the 18.15 train from Pearse to Donabate, due to arrive in at 18.39

At 19.00, I was surprised she was yet to arrive. Living beside the train line, I knew there had been no trains past. So I checked the website and saw "No Current Travel Alerts".

At 19.30, I went to the train station and saw on the info board that trains are delayed by up to 20 minutes due to a train failure at Pearse.

While that information may have been grossly innacurate, at least it made reference to delays, unlike the website.

Has anyone ever known the travel alerts section on the website to have any relevant information?

As you suffered a merely normal delay it didnt warrent going into the travel alert section. :D

by normal, do you mean 58 minutes at peak time?

I assume it means there are no scheduled outages.

It's a good thing the network operates perfectly the rest of the time ;)

Very few people in IE have access to the website to update it, they also seem to hide delays such as yesterday afternoon there was a incident on a Greystones bound Dart at about 14:30 requiring a ambulance caused serious delays but no notice on the IE site

Luckily for me, I didn't have access to the website to check for info on yesterday's delay.

Instead I was stuck on Lansdowne platform with the female announcer advising she would give more information as it became available.

I did the only thing possible in such a situation and went to Paddy Cullen's for dinner.

Its means there have been no incidents.

But surely a broken down train making the lines impassable is an incident?

There was no failure, since no IE manager was effected its not news worthy. Last time things went really bad a certain manager did a runner for a taxi not going to name the date or place but we know and IE know
