20-1-07 engineering works Kildare line
 

The 19.40 service from Newbridge to Heuston was cancelled due to engineering works. Prior notice was given.

However the railcar set was parked in the bay platform at Newbridge this evening and was returning to Dublin "empty". The announcements on the 19.30 arrival from Limerick instructed people to change at Newbridge for Sallins, Hazelhatch etc. I witnessed one confused passenger being told by staff to ask the driver nicely and he might stop en route for her.

This is a total disgrace and a glaringly obvious act of incompetence by IE management. What moron made the decision to send a train back empty, when it could have provided a service? And did anyone tell the guard on the Limerick train? eh....no.
