DART Fire

Thursday 14th December 21.38 hrs.

Reports are coming in that a Dart is on fire in Booterstown.

More as we get it.

Derek Wheeler 14-12-2006 21:58

No notice from IE as of yet.

Post it here if you have anything.

If the report is true, there may well be disruption to southside DART services.

Still nothing from IE or news services. So no definitive confirmation on this report in relation to its seriousness or actuality. Perhaps tomorrow will bring some news.

was at pearse, gettin the 22.22 to balbriggan, no announcements at the station that i could hear concerning this.

I can confirm that a southbound train was evacuated at Booterstown just before 21:00 the exact time still requires confirmation

Have spoke to a passenger on board who reports a strong smell of burning in a coach and it was a LHB coach several staff appeared when the train was evacuated

Most likely the 20:20 Howth to Bray or 20:25 Malahide Bray

Thanks Mark and hhf8.

"LHB" means very old/original DART coach from 1984.

We'll see what emanates.

Sort of arson if this is blamed on the coach its almost certain yet another case of passengers suffering as a result of delays in the overhaul project
