As above 5:30 didn't reach Port, by 7:50 still no announcement, then told next train was the 7:52 and no more trains into Portarlington until after 10.
Cork must be running straight through? Driver on that train apologised on the way into Heuston for the overcrowding and told us about the bridge incident. I think he said 'stupid' or 'idiot' truck driver, I was half asleep! |
twas mentioned on Morning Ireland by the AA just after the 8am news that the 530 Cork train was late getting into Portlaoise because of it. It would have been very late by that stage.
Anoth bridge strike. Hopefully IE will sue the haulier. |

I assumed it was the one that normally stops at 7:52 but maybe it was an earlier one - the one that doesn't normally stop in Port? |
the 05:30 stops in Portlaoise Portarlington and Heuston station dublin only. It did that and arrived in Dublin at about 5 past nine there was an apology on board but no reason given and in the station a guy just repeated over and over that there was a bridge strike in Portlaoise. I thought bank of ireland were on strike?
|
Sandraoh did the 5:30am stop in Portarlington after all?
We were told the train we got at 7:55 was the last one to Dublin til 10 so everyone piled on! Not much room for the people from Kildare onwards. Only got in about 8:55, so not very far ahead of the 5:30. |
It absolutely did stop in Portarlington
|
Mis-information strikes again.
Maybe our station master had been told it wouldn't, who knows! It all lead to a very packed train anyway  |
All times are GMT. The time now is 06:57. |
