ITS QUITE LONG SO PROB BEST TO READ THE ARTICLE IN BLUE FIRST, THEN MY COMMENT.
No mention about asking for improved services for the Clonmel line. Though this is North Tipp and that's South Tipp he should at least try ask for a better service on that line to benefit North and South Tipp when joined. He needs to think of the whole wider community in North Tipperary not just Nenagh. Quote:

The people of Birdhill are entitled, Minister? What about Clonmel - where's their special on an active line?
Hell, what about Tuam? What about Cavan where there isn't even a rail line? Must we reopen Birr, Wellington Bridge and Youghal for parity of esteem, and lay rail to New Ross? DAMMIT MINISTER THE PEOPLE OF VALENTIA ISLAND COULD NOT WALK TO A TRAIN TO THE FOOTBALL FINAL. OH THE HUMANITY. Get off the stage kid. |
He needs to be Junior Minister for Transport. Not Nenagh Minister for Transport. Nenagh aint exactly that big of a town in the size of Clonmel/Letterkenny etc to waste pumping money into a service that nobody would use. Templemore probably has more passengers a day than Nenagh has in a fortnight. They have two bus services Bus Éireann and J.J kavanagh's which leave every hour vs a slow 3hr train journey nobody will use it.

His comment was "...as entitled to proper public transport as anyone else..."
An MP encouraging... campaigning for better rail services. Clearly out of his depth and needs to go. |
Sealink - no. Talk is cheap. Upgrading that line to anything like an acceptable service is going to cost serious coin and he hasn't got it.
