DART Bray to Connolly
Over the last 3-4 weeks this journey has taken at least 45 minutes in both directions during the monring or evening. For example I will take the 8am DART southbound from Shankill and it will not arrive in Connolly until at least 5 mins after schduled timetable ...the same goes for the return journey in the evening.
Does anyone have any idea if the timetables that CIE publish are accurate? I have only noticed this in the last few weeks. I see that there is some slab track section that is delaying the journey between Dun Laoighre and Sandycove but I dont exactly know what this is. Overall though its very frustrating .. |
Well, the latest DART punctuality rating is sub-80%.

10 mins late all this week - mainly in the northbound direction. Very frustrating but with CIE there is nothing you can do. I would imagine it happens on every peak hour DART.
those DART puntuality tables need to be revised to <50% |
IE are quoting 79.93% to 5 minutes which is the international standard. We should aspire to 95% or better. Its the worst performance for a month I've ever seen and this month will be worse
The all in number is 72% to 5 minutes but that includes bridge strikes and trains striking people. Within 10 minutes is 92% all in. Those are our numbers as distinct from Irish Rail's manipulated numbers Quote:
The 7:55 was less than 3 minutes late this morning |
It is mainly the same 2 bottlenecks - train rrunning slow between DL and Sandycove or vice versa ..followed by a delay between Tara and Connolly. I presume the latter is because of occupied platforms at Connolly. A combination of the 2 can mean 10 min delays ...and the delay between Tara and Connolly is getting more and more frequent.

For the record

The DL - Sandycove issue is worth 90 seconds at most |

Maybe Irish Rail should think about updating their timetables to reflect actual reality. According to the timetable train arriving in Clontraf Northbound is 08.45 - it hasnt arrived before 08.52 for weeks now ...
This morning it took 18 mins to get from Pearse to Clontarf - a journey that should take 10 mins apparently. |

What is the reason for the speed restriction between DL - Sandycove? |
Points failure at Clontarf Road this morning before 7am. All services up to 10am delayed. But don't worry it was a big secret, so you won't find any mention of it anywhere.....
