Malahide viaduct collapse - Affecting Enterprise and Northern Commuter Services
Due to the collapse of a 20m segment of the Malahide viaduct on Friday 21st August, train services between Malahide and Skerries are suspended until further notice.
Enterprise services are operating between Belfast and Drogheda, with coach transfers between Drogheda and Connolly. Delays are expected. Additionally, we expect some services to be operated by non-Enterprise trains. Drogheda and Dundalk commuter services are currently operating to and from Skerries, to a modified timetable. Donabate station is closed. DART services are not affected. Quote:
Current best-case predictions are for the line to reopen in November. Discussion of the incident in general is at http://www.railusers.ie/forum/showthread.php?t=10256; please keep messages on this thread to service updates. |
As an aside, just to let people north of skerries affected know bus eireann has announced via its twitter site it will be running extra buses on its 101 (to drogheda via balbriggan and airport), 100x to dundalk (via dublin port tunnel and drogheda) and 1 (to belfast) routes

102 bus route from malahide/sutton DART stations to swords main street
For those of you who for whatever reason end up in malahide or the northern DART line and dont want to go back to the city, just to mention the 102 bus route goes from both sutton and malahide DART stations (malahide would be shorter) and you can take this bus to swords main street where you can board the 33s to donabate, rush, lusk, skerries and balbriggan. not sure how long it would take and you would need to check for departure times, heard though the 102 is quiet frequent!
