The usual useless notice, won't tell you which trains are effected, or how bad things are

Strike?
 

A posting on a trainspotters' forum (not IRN) claims there have been no trains to or from Heuston this morning, 29 October, due to a strike. I can find nothing to support this claim anywhere else. Any truth in this?

We would know if there was a strike before it happened, is there one coming soon, of course

It is a bank holiday so there are no Athlone, Portlaoise, Athy or Kildare/Newbridge commuter services which would make Heuston look a bit empty

With the earlier problem in Cork there would be delays to everything after the 9am Dublin Cork as Cork has 4 Mk4 sets all of which where delayed

"is there one coming soon, of course"

Is this a question or a typing error and it should read "there is" ? If so who is going on strike?

There is a strike coming, you can be sure of that, there is always one coming. Most never reach the point of actually happening and everyone is blissfully unaware.

If there was a strike this morning we would know

Most of the time from what we know the problems arise from a failure within Irish Rail to deal with reasonable staff issues within a reasonable time, not dissimilar to how passengers are dealt with:(

There was a signalling fault in the Cork area according to the P.A announcements in Heuston station.

The 11.30am from Cork to Dublin arrived in Heuston at 3.40pm at platform 8.100 minutes late.

The 12.30am from Cork arrived a few minutes earlier on platform 5.

I was waiting in Heuston from 2.10pm for my Dad and sister who took the 11.30 train.

The only annoncement made in regard to the late running of the 11.30 train was when the train was pulling in.

I found out about the delay from the tiny arrival screens in Heuston station.

Of course this never happened
