Avoid last 3 carriages of Longford-Pearse today

On the 7.33 from Mullingar and the last 3 carriages are filled with a poo smell from the toilet in the second last carriage.

That would be the David Williams Memorial Toilet doing its "The Shining" chardes rehersals before Christmass

haha... I too have experienced that joy on cold winter mornings in the days before I gave up on the Longford service in favour of my car.
It is an overpowering, truly disgusting pong and somehow manages to spread through several carriages.
What on earth is wrong with the toilets to cause this?

Ah well - suppose it's just another wonderful feature of our new-fangled multi-million euro rolling stock.

if this was in the canteen section it would sound like a "he who smelt it, dealt it"
situation:(

This stink is so intense and persistent though, whoever dealt it would need to have eaten many buckets of baked beans the night before :)
Enough to turn your stomach!!

Stirring it up

We have a campervan with an onboard loo. It's a bit like a train, only the catering on the camper is much better, the schedule is more flexible. you can get a sleeper, and you can fit 3 bikes on the camper.

Back to the loo situation - while it is normally ok, we have found that if we drive off without emptying first (especially if it has been 'fermenting' for a few days) then the agitation caused by driving for even a few metres is enough to raise a significant stink - much worse than you might expect.

I reckon the smell you are getting is because the tanks haven't been emptied and the movement of the train is 'bringing it to life'.

Lets be serious about this issue folks.

Obviously the toilet in question has been a victim of intestinal gastro vandalism. The thug/gurrier/scumbag did not, on this ocassion, stuff or jam a beer can down this super douper star trek bog. They drank said dodgy can earlier in the day and then divulged the septic results into the space loo. Unfortunetly the delicate, but brilliantly designed loo, cannot cope and the heroes in Drogheda are currently working with NASA to find a solution.
