16.50 Dublin Belfast

Dundalk Passengers are being segregated out of the normal queues and treated as second hand citizens on this train even those they were made queue for boarding passes at xmas to board this train!. This according to customer services is going to be policy from now on as priority is given to all cross border passengers!

If you had the time and wanted to make the effort, you could make a complaint to the EU as the govt( or Martin Cullen, the owner of the CIE) is treating citizens of one state differently to another...

well I rang the local consitituency office of a sitting td in louth and customer services... I've been told via a message that someone from customer services let those who were in the segregated queue through as normal including those without passes, and infront of passengers crossing the border. Isn't is amazing that a foreign company can dictate who gets on their trains...

I was told by a costumer services person that it was the reason they got the new enterprise trains! They may have been new but the carriages are not looked after, toilets not working, air conditioning not working... and lately rarely on time. there was one day during the week the temperature in the carriage was 34C!! What a service and what a day to introduce a new policy!

NIR and IE went halves on the Enterprise - which is a problem because there are Mk3s which could be directed onto Enterprise but it would require NIR to put up some money.

The real problem is that the Dublin-Dundalk line needs a quantum increase in commuter capacity while respecting terminus slot capacity (*cough* bilevels *cough* :D) but instead commuters have to crowd into Intercity services because going from 4 to 6 to 8 DMUs is not staying sufficiently ahead of demand growth.

well someone from rte was in the queue yesterday working for liveline it seems. A few people were approached about appearing on that show in relation to this! One of the people I know got a phonecall this morning confirming their availability and said they would ring back when the slot was confirmed!

remove the Enterprise stops at Drogheda and Dundalk, first stop Newry. Put a Cravens set on for all stops from Balbriggan-Dundalk [ leaving 5 minutes later ]
Solves the issue.

[ ducks for cover :) ]

Is it possible to operate 12 Car 2900's? If they can get more in!

Are there any plans to increase the commuter fleet appart from the 22k's for long distance commuter runs? Do they have any more standard commuter DMU's on order.

No plans, none on order.

Little investigation reveals Translink are running a promotion £15 return valid on the 16:50 which is clearly not acceptable. Offer ends May 31st
