For Sunday the 16:10 Pearse Longford is NOT LISTED as a service. also the 19:20 Longford Connolly is listed as a BUS TRANSFER

No mention of this?

Mark Gleeson 22-02-2008 17:24

Wait about 20 minutes and it will be there

ThomasJ 22-02-2008 21:03

Not updated yet. The outbound service been cancelled is not the worst given there are later sligo intercity services but inbound that evening the train is normally packed with students heading back up to dublin carrying bags etc. Should be warning.

Cancellation of 11.35 Connolly to Gorey

Today (Saturday) as on many Saturdays, I had intended to catch this train at 12.31 from Kilcoole to Wicklow. Now, at the last minute, the service is cancelled with NO replacement service southbound from Kilcoole. I guess that I am expected to walk

Interestingly enough, if I had been undertaking the same journey northbound on the 14.48 ex Gorey (as I sometimes do), a replacement bus service that serves Kilcoole would have been provided.

Here's hoping that this does not become a regular feature of Saturday operations!

KSW 23-02-2008 11:02

Hi James, Its wired the bus not stopping at Kilcoole but I say its just yourself at the platform!! There's actually someone from Kilcoole on here:eek: I hope myself that the 11:35 service does not have operational problems on Saturdays or during the week. The bus just does not appeal to me:D

Mark Gleeson 23-02-2008 12:58

13.30 Cork to Heuston is cancelled as well today

ThomasJ 23-02-2008 20:50

Good to see the title stating that it has been updated. There is a blunder in that press release. On sunday it says that the 16.10hrs pearse - longford is cancelled and says that passengers between maynooth and longford should use the 16.00hrs connolly to sligo and passengers between connolly and maynooth should use the 16.30hrs pearse to longford. The 16.30hrs does not go to longford, only to maynooth.

Colm Moore 23-02-2008 21:52

It would appear there have been other cancellations.

And while all this goes on, IE train drivers on steam trains - see www.rpsi-online.org . At least the trainspotters will get their days out....

LC

Mark Gleeson 25-02-2008 10:37

Thats done strictly on as required basis, its voluntary and they are certainly doing it on rest days, as such they aren't available to drive company trains under the current protest. Given this notice went up before the trouble started in Connolly it cannot be confirmed as running

Mark Gleeson 29-02-2008 16:40

Here we go again

The 1809 Pearse Maynooth (coming from Bray) was cancelled without notice yesterday (1st-March).

Confirmed by the guy in Drumcondra station that it was as a result of the drivers dispute.

Had a gloomy 30 minute wait in Drumcondra for the next train.

Colm Moore 02-03-2008 17:09

Hopefully some light.

Rail dispute results in disruption
Sunday, 2 March 2008 16:50

A dispute over rostering between management and unions at Irish Rail has led to disruption of some train services.

Further disruption is also expected on some commuter routes tomorrow.

Both sides in the dispute are to hold talks at the Labour Relations Commission tomorrow the morning.

Most passengers departing Heuston Station, Dublin today were unaffected.

However passengers travelling from Dublin to Galway at 1.45pm had to take the bus.

Buses were also put on for those affected by the cancelled services between Cork and Mallow and Tralee and Mallow.

Tomorrow the first train from Portlaoise to Dublin has been cancelled as has the 5.30pm train from Heuston to Carlow tomorrow evening.

Mark Gleeson 03-03-2008 13:44

Here we go, its no unofficial action, no strike, no pickets, just not enough drivers. Note the trains cancelled are primarily Docklands, ones added to the timetable recently IE have known since Friday that there would be problems on Monday
