Took this to the o2 last night and it's very handy couldn't get you closer.

Only gripe is at €1.50 from Busaras it's a bit steep

Apologies i am a bit behind on this one but since when have connolly trams been operating only as far as heuston ?

Two thirds of trams from Tallaght go to The Point. One third go to Connolly. On top of this, some trams are operating Connolly-Heuston.

according to a notice i saw at the connolly stop tonight trams from connolly do not go beyond heuston it advises passengers going beyond heuston to go to the next stop.

The notice looks permanent. Will try and get the exact wording of the notice later. Its on the glass pane as you go down the escalator on both sides.

The notice states :

All trams from Connolly only go as far as Heuston. This makes sense to me, as it proviced extra capacity on the busiest section of the line. If you want to go further, either walk around the corner to Busaras, or get off the Heuston bound tram at any stop and wait for one bound for Tallaght.

I do think there would be some logic in running some Connolly-Point trams on evenings of concerts.

Presumably any tram on a Point - Connolly running would cause a lot of disruption as it blocks movements in other directions.

Not particularly. With several minutes between trams, its no more complicated than trams going in or out of services at Heuston, Connolly or Red Cow.
